The Process
After creating the gradient with the red, orange, black, and yellow spray paint, I added a light strip to the outside to give the effect of the sun being eclipsed by the moon.
This was one of my first pieces that I created when transitioning from DIY to canvas-based art. I saw this circular canvas and immediately wanted to create a planet/moon inspired piece, which became more of a blood moon/eclipse.
I wanted to add a little more artistic influence to it, and used pouring medium to create the swirls, and then resin to seal it. However, when using resin, I use it outside it my backyard to not inhale the fumes. When i left it out overnight, some local raccoons stepped in some dirt and walked across the painting, leaving their mark and making the piece that much better.
